A dual density molded EVA midsole and Beneke-Ceroprene rand provide cushioning and support that's critical whether pushing through a multi-hour run or just getting back out on the trail after a layoff. Between the outsole and insole a rigid plate of molded thermoplastic urethane gives the Vasque Velocity Trail Running Shoe for men torsional strength to handle rocky routes and eroded paths. If an extra aggressive urge overcomes you, the rubber toe bumper and mesh tongue gusset protect the foot from stubborn roots and loose debris on go-light, go-fast scrambles and canyon routes.
